KKA Schools Tournament

For the third year running Saxon Way Primary School played host to the eighth Kent and Medway Schools Korfball Tournament.

Eleven schools braved the elements and entered seven teams in the under nine section and fifteen teams in the under elevens. The day started with torrential rain as the teams took to the pitches. Over two hundred and sixty children waited eagerly for their turn to compete. Fortunately the rain did not dampen the spirits of the enthusiastic parents and teachers who under a sea of umbrellas cheered on their teams from the sidelines.

The standard of Korfball this year was exceptionally high as Korfball club mates battled against each other, this time representing their schools. Thankfully the sun did put in an appearance at certain times during the day which raised everyones’ spirits.

Results for the Under nine section
Saxon Stars, Parkwood Panthers, Hilltop Hotshots, Halling Harriers, East Borough Emus, Bligh Lightening, Bligh Dragons.

Results for the Under eleven section
Ditton Dynamos, Parkwood Stingers, Deanwood Dazzlers, Bligh Allstars, Hilltop Highfliers
Horsted Hotshots, Super Saxons, East Borough Eagles, Featherby, Fairview Fighters
Halling Hawks, Hilltop Hurricanes, Roseacre, Fairview Foxes, Allsorts.

Shooting Competition winners:
Under nines Ben Asinall
Under elevens Jay Babraa
Under thirteens Steph Bray
Adults Grace Collins.
